About the McSwain
The McSwain Theater offers visitors diverse entertainment opportunities. The McSwain Theatre was built by Ada businessman Foster McSwain in 1920 and continued to screen movies and host events well into the 1980’s.
In 2002, the Chickasaw Nation purchased the McSwain Theatre and began overseeing its operations. Extensive renovations that restored the theatre back to a look similar to its glory days in the 1920’s have been completed.
Through the years, the McSwain Theatre has endured hard times and celebrated golden years. From the depression era to the era of the multi-plex, the McSwain Theatre has reinvented itself, found its way and left indelible impressions on thousands of visitors, performers and patrons.
There is a reason that, after 90 years at Main and Townsend, the McSwain Theatre has remained a favorite venue for generations of guests – imagination and entertainment.
